January Property Auction: A Look at the Results
Town and Country’s first auction of 2024 proved to be another successful national online auction. Over the course of the month, we listed a range of properties, including residential homes, commercial buildings, and vacant land across the UK.
The auction garnered significant attention from buyers across the country, eager to participate in the highly competitive bidding process. The allure of the properties on offer, resulted in a fierce competition among potential buyers.
Auction Highlights
Our Cheshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire Auction offered an exciting opportunity to restore this neglected property to its former glory. This cavernous grade II listed property dates back to the early 19th century, has been vacant for a long period of time and requires full restoration.
Holly House was quickly snapped up by a buyer prior to the auction.
Marchwood was sold prior to the London Auction. The property offered a wonderful opportunity to acquire a substantial family home situated on a wide plot of approximately 0.4 acre, with potential to update and extend subject to the usual constraints. In a sought after location near Oxshott village, within easy reach of the train station (with trains to London Waterloo in under 40 minutes) and exceptional schools, both state and private.
We saw competitive bidding in the North West Auction for this 2 bed terrace property in need of modernisation.
Receiving a total of 30 bids the property sold at the auction for £115,000.
Our South Auction featured a first floor two double bedroom apartment located in the ever sought after Westcliff. The property is just a short walk from Westbourne Village with its wealth of shops, bars and restaurants and the local chines which provide a walk through directly to local beaches.
The property received a total of 17 bids and sold for £166,000.
Our South Wales Auction featured Quay Street which was sold prior to the Auction. A Grade 2 potential development opportunity in the picturesque town of Carmarthen. The proposal is to convert the three/four storey office building into three separate apartments for residential use. In addition. the conversion of the stone-built stable to the rear of the main property is proposed to a one bedroom, two storey residential dwelling.
We saw competitive bidding on a garage featured in the South Wales Auction. A total of 15 bids were placed achieving a sold price of £8,300. A rare opportunity to acquire a freehold lock up Garage in a popular central location close to of Morriston Centre. Located in a small row of similar garages and offers dry storage and garaging in a level position within an easy walk of the town centre.
A 1 bedroom apartment just half a mile from Worthing Seafront and 150 yards to Victoria Park, this very spacious ground floor apartment with a footprint in excess of 900 square feet and with potential to be increased to 2 bedrooms. Achieving £25,000 over the guide price.
